Numbers Please: Hamburg shot 58.9 percent for the game - 65.8 percent on two-pointers and 44.4 percent from long range - while Tübingen could only connect on 42.9 percent of their attempts.
Player of the Game: VJ King not only scored 19 points - on 6-of-7 shooting and a perfect 7-of-7 from the foul line - but he added 6 rebounds and 1 steal.
The Germans: Jonas Wohlfarth-Bottermann scored 15 points to go with 2 rebounds and 1 assist while Lukas Meisner hit 3 three-pointers for 12 points and Nico Brauner added 8 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists for the winners. Mateo Seric scored 9 points for Tübingen, who also had Daniel Keppeler tally 7 points.
Also Newsworthy Part I: Tübingen's biggest problem in their fight against relegation has been the third quarter. Danny Jansson's team lost the third stanza 28-16 - for the 15th time in the last 16 losses Tübingen failed to win the third quarter.
Also Newsworthy Part II: Hamburg could not secure their berth in the Play-Ins on their own. They would have needed a victory plus a NINERS Chemnitz win at home over Basketball Löwen Braunschweig and a Bamberg Baskets home loss to RASTA Vechta. Braunschweig did lose in Chemnitz 82-68 but Bamberg beat Vechta 94-65.
What's Up Next: Tübingen’s final game in the easyCredit BBL will be on the road on Sunday May 12 when they face MLP Academics Heidelberg. Hamburg will finish the regular season with a home game against BG Göttingen on Sunday May 12.
